Here’s how I finally got my 250GB dual boot drive cloned over to the new 500GB drive. Installing the RAM was a piece of cake, but moving the data over to the new drive proved much more tricky.
So I hopped on NewEgg and got a WD Black 500GB notebook hard drive and 8GB’s of RAM for $150. I’m down to less than 1GB of free space on both my Macintosh HD and the Boot Camp Windows 7 partition. Alternatively, you can use WinClone to create a disk image of the Windows partition for backup/restore purposes, while in macOS, and skip the reinstall and just expand the image to the larger/smaller partition.My MacBook Pro has been running out of hard disk space for some time. If you want to increase or decrease the size, you must re-run Boot Camp Assistant, delete and then recreate the partition, then reinstall Windows. Please what should I do? The only supported way of increasing or decreasing the storage allocated to the Boot Camp partition is to delete and recreate it using Boot Camp Assistant. Resized & moved Bootcamp Partition from windows, now mac partition is not showing up. Once the image has been created, you get rid of the Boot Camp partition, recreate it, and then use the same software to imprint the image onto the larger partition.
The last time I did anything with Boot Camp (it’s been a few years now) I used this software to make a disk image and I was able to skip having to reinstall Windows or re-enter the serial key. I have used it twice now to resize the Boot Camp partition on two systems without having to wait through a full Windows reinstall. You may be able to use WinClone but maybe not. How do I back up my Bootcamp partition - if I can’t access Windows?
